Our view of the service
Date of assessment: 9 March to 31 March 2026. We completed site visits on 9 March and 11 March 2026. Letheringsett Hall is a residential care home providing accommodation for people who require nursing or personal care. The service is registered for 20 people and provides support to older people. At the time of the assessment, there were 18 people living at the service. The service rating has changed from good to requires improvement at this inspection. The governance systems in place were not always effective. The provider was in breach of the legal regulations relating to good governance. Safeguarding incidents were not always identified and reported to the relevant authorities. Care plans and risk assessments were not always reflective of people’s current needs and information was found to be conflicting. We also found concerns around the fire safety implemented in the service. However, we observed staff to be kind and caring towards people and knowledgeable of people’s needs. Staff spoke positively about the management team and felt supported and listened to.
People's experience of this service
We received positive feedback from people and relatives. People told us they felt safe living in the service. People and relatives were generally happy with the care received. One person said, “I do feel safe here. You can call for help if you need to.” A relative said, “[family member] is safe, [family member] is well looked after. It’s a weight off my mind.” While people expressed general satisfaction with their care and treatment, our assessment found elements of care did not meet the expected standards.
