Staff and leaders actively listened to information about people who are most likely to experience inequality in experience or outcomes and tailored their care, support and treatment in response to this.

 

Staff were respectful of people’s individual differences and their preferences and needs. Comments from care workers included, “I concentrate on building a safe and inclusive environment.” “There are clients l have from different nationalities, different culture and different religions. Ido respect each individual’s cultural values, we have been trained to give person centred care, it’s important never todiscriminate anyone by their origin, culture and values.” And, “It’s important to respect and understand people’s religions, culture, traditions, sexual orientation and identity. I would ask questions and discuss it kindly and respectfully.” People and relatives confirmed staff support people with their individual needs, including aspects related to their religion and culture. Comments from relatives included, “They take him to Church on a Sunday,” and “They leave her alone if she is praying.”
