Responsive

This service scored 71 (out of 100) for this area. Find out what we look at when we assess this area and How we calculate these scores.
Person-centred Care
The provider did not always make sure people were at the centre of their care and treatment choices through their care planning processes. We identified that a shared care plan was used for a couple, rather than separate personalised plans, meaning individual needs and preferences were not always clearly recorded. The provider welcomed the feedback and committed to creating separate care plans to ensure each person’s needs, preferences and desired outcomes are clearly reflected. There was scope for more detailed information about people's individual preferences to be recorded on their care plans.
However, staff demonstrated a good understanding of the people they supported, including what was important to them, and were able to provide personalised care that reflected people's individual needs and preferences. We found no evidence that the recording issues identified had negatively impacted people, with people and their relatives confirming they received care that reflected their wishes and choices.
