Our view of the service
Date of assessment: 04 and 21 November 2025
This inspection was undertaken following an aged rating and concerns we had received about the service. The nursing home provides care for older people, including those living with dementia or complex health needs.
The service provided safe, compassionate care, underpinned by skilled staff and committed leadership.
People were safe and well supported by staff who were safely recruited and well trained. Staff were knowledgeable, competent, and confident in their roles, with a skilled nursing team and visible, approachable leadership. Since the last inspection, the service had strengthened systems in care planning, risk management, medicines administration, infection prevention, and staff training.
Overall, care was delivered effectively and consistently, demonstrating strong practice across the service. The provider had further work planned to enhance decor to make the environment more dementia friendly and increase the frequency of community outings, to better support people’s independence and wellbeing.

People and their families consistently described the service as safe, supportive, and caring, and told us staff treated them with dignity, patience, and respect. Staff were approachable and knowledgeable, responded promptly to people’s changing needs, and demonstrated a good understanding of individuals’ communication styles, preferences, and personal histories.
People experienced person-centred care, with routines adapted to what mattered to them, and families highlighted the welcoming atmosphere, sense of community, and the positive relationships people had built with staff. People told us they were involved in everyday decisions about their care, and relatives felt well-informed and included. Staff had the skills and training needed to meet people’s health needs, and visiting professionals reported effective communication and good partnership working. The leadership team was visible, approachable, and receptive to feedback, and staff described feeling supported and valued.
Overall, people were satisfied with the support available, although there were still limited opportunities for outings and some aspects of the home’s decor were not yet fully dementia friendly.
People’s day-to-day experiences were positive, and the service demonstrated strong practice across safety, compassion, involvement, and leadership.
