Our view of the service

Ashlodge provides accommodation and personal care for up to 16 older people with care needs associated with older age. This includes people with physical and health needs and people with a dementia and memory loss. Ashlodge is a detached property close to the seafront in Bexhill -on-Sea. At the time of this assessment there were 15 people living at the service. We carried out this assessment between 3 January to 25 January 2024. We looked at 5 quality statements; Safeguarding; Involving people to manage risks; Safe and effective staffing; Independence, choice and control and Equity in experiences and outcomes.

People's experience of this service

People told us they felt safe at Ashlodge. We spoke with 7 people and 1 relative during the assessment. They told us that there were enough staff who knew them well and were responsive to their needs. People and their relatives were involved in decision making regarding their care and were given regular opportunities to provide feedback. People told us they were confident that any concerns would be addressed in a timely manner. We observed caring and warm interactions between people and staff.
