During an inspection looking at part of the service

Many of the people living in the home were not able, due to their complex needs, to tell us about their experiences, but those who were able told us that they felt involved in making choices and decisions about their care and treatment and staff treated them very well. Relatives told us they believed people living at the home are encouraged by staff to make choices and decisions about their lives, but because of their illness it was at times difficult for them to communicate or express their wishes easily. They also told us told us that staff kept them informed and consulted with them in making best interest decisions on behalf of people who use the services.

During an inspection in response to concerns

We were able to speak with two people living in the home who both said they could talk to the manager if they were worried about anything. Both felt confident that the manager would listen to them. One person stated "that they were very happy living there".

At the time of our visit only one family visited the home and there was no opportunity to speak directly with these relatives. Staff commented on how they enjoyed working at the home and they all felt that their managers were approachable.
