Our view of the service

Chislehurst Healthcare Ltd is a domiciliary care agency. It provides personal care to adults and older people living in their own homes. Not everyone using Chislehurst Healthcare Ltd receives a regulated activity. At the time of our assessment 6 people were receiving the regulated activity of ‘personal care’.

The service was registered with CQC on 6 July 2021, and this was the first assessment. We have rated the service good.

We expect health and social care providers to guarantee people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices and independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ is the guidance CQC follows to make assessments and judgements about services supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people and providers must have regard to it.

Although at the time of our assessment the service was not providing support to people with a learning disability and autistic people, we found the provider was meeting the principles of Right support, right care, right culture and staff were appropriately trained.

There were safeguarding policies and procedures in place and staff knew the actions to take should they have any concerns. Staff understood people’s needs and risks and how to support them safely. People received support to manage their medicines when needed and staff followed effective infection control procedures. Appropriate recruitment checks took place before staff started work and there was enough staff available to meet people’s care and support needs. People were supported to live safely and had support to access health and social care professionals when required. People’s needs were assessed and support was provided that met their individual requirements. Staff had received training and support relevant to people’s needs. Staff said they received good support from the registered manager.
