Our view of the service

We carried out this announced, on-site inspection on 10 April 2025.

We found the practice had met regulations.

Infection control procedures in place were effective.

The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks. The processes for checking the medical emergency kit should be reviewed.

Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.

Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance. Systems to ensure the documentation of care was consistent with guidance could be improved.

Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our inspection, could access care, support and treatment when required.

The documentation of incidents could be improved to support the provider to evidence that learning occurred, in line with their policy.

The practice is in Moortown, Leeds and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children. The practice is part of a Health Education England Performers List Validation by Experience (PLVE) scheme to support overseas qualified dentists to join the NHS primary care dental workforce.

The practice had car parking to the front and rear of the premises, and step-free access to the practice. Additional parking was available in the next-door shopping centre

The practice had 6 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 22 staff, of which there were 5 dentists, 3 dental therapists, 12 dental nurses (including 2 trainees) and the practice manager. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 5 dentists, 1 dental therapist, dental nurses and the practice manager.

The service provides cosmetic treatments, some of which are not in scope of CQC regulation and are not covered in our inspection.
