During a routine inspection
People we spoke with told us 'the staff really look after us here,' 'they are very caring and kind' and 'it is marvellous, I can't fault it.' Relatives told us how they were 'very happy' with the care provided and said they were included in it if they wished. We saw other health professionals were consulted when necessary and their advice included in the care and treatment.
We saw the food served was appealing and people told us it was 'lovely' saying they 'always enjoyed it.' They told us they had "lots of choices" and we saw a variety of meals being served. People could eat their meals where they wished and they were assisted appropriately. The chef catered for various tastes and requirements.
During our inspection we saw the home was clean, tidy and free from odour. People who lived there told us they were "very happy" with the cleanliness and one relative said "it is always clean with no smell."
We saw that people received the medicines they were prescribed, in a timely way and they were administered by qualified nurses.
We were told by staff and people who lived at the home that usually the numbers of staff on duty were adequate and one staff member said they were 'better than usual.'
