Our view of the service
Date of assessment: 15 April 2025 to 24 April 2025. Endurance Kent- Broadstairs is a supported living service. The service supports 18 people to live in their own homes with 13 people receiving the regulated activity of personal care. We completed this assessment to check improvements had been made since our last inspection.
We have assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.
At our last inspection the service had 2 breaches of regulation including the need for consent and management of the service. At this assessment we found improvements had been made and the service was no longer in breach of regulation.
There were effective systems in place to monitor the quality of the service and action was taken when shortfalls were identified. Staff felt supported and were confident to speak up when they had concerns. Staff understood their roles and responsibilities in supporting people to be as independent as possible.
People's experience of this service
People told us they were happy with their support. People explained how they were supported to eat healthy meals and manage their blood sugar. Staff had worked with people and community services such as dentists to enable people to access the service. People had benefitted from receiving dental care and regular health checks because of this work. Staff respected people’s decisions and worked with them to make sure they remained safe. Some people had fluctuating capacity when they were unwell. This was discussed while the person was well, and decisions were made and recorded to be enacted when needed. Staff gave people information to make informed decisions in the way they could understand.
People benefitted from being supported by staff who had received training to support their specific needs, who they had built trusting relationships with.
