Our view of the service

Date of assessment: 14 April 2026 to 19 May 2026. The service is a care home providing care and support to older people, including people with dementia. At the time of this inspection, 36 people were living at the service.

The inspection was carried out to review the previous rating. At the last inspection we rated the service as Good. At this inspection we found the service was still Good.

Risks to people were identified but not all risks were mitigated. The service had already identified this was an area for improvement and took immediate action on our feedback to further mitigate risks to people.

Safeguarding systems protected people from harm with effective systems in place to promote learning and prevent a recurrence in relation to accidents, incidents and concerns.

Staff received comprehensive induction, regular supervision and on-going training, alongside access to a wide range of training opportunities. Staffing levels were kept under review to ensure sufficient staff were provided. Recruitment records required improvement to provide full assurance safe recruitment practices were followed.

The service had undergone refurbishment and provided a homely and welcoming environment.

The provider had systems in place to audit the service. These had identified some of the issues we found, and action was being taken to address them. Further improvements were required to people’s records to ensure they were accurate, complete and contemporaneous.

Staff were observed to be kind and polite with people. They were mindful of dignity and respect practices and clearly passionate about providing good and safe care.

The service was committed to consistently providing exceptional dignity in dying with their end-of-life care and were reaccredited in the Gold Standard Framework for this.
