This meant people were supported and treated with dignity and respect and involved as partners in their care.
This service scored 70 (out of 100) for this area. Find out what we look at when we assess this area and How we calculate these scores.
Kindness, compassion and dignity
The provider always treated people with kindness, empathy and compassion and respected their privacy and dignity. Staff treated colleagues from other organisations with kindness and respect.
Treating people as individuals
We did not look at Treating people as individuals during this assessment. The score for this quality statement is based on the previous rating for Caring.
Independence, choice and control
The provider did not always promote people’s independence, and ensure they have choice and control over their own care and wellbeing. Some of the people we spoke with told us there was little to do at the service and they spent much of their time watching TV. They also told us there was little opportunity to access the community. We discussed this feedback with the registered manager who told us about the activities that were offered at the service including arts and crafts, visiting singers, church services and activities tailored to individual interests such as music sessions. They confirmed they would work with the activities coordinator and people to develop individualised activity profiles, which would include more planned opportunities to access the community.
Responding to people’s immediate needs
We did not look at Responding to people’s immediate needs during this assessment. The score for this quality statement is based on the previous rating for Caring.
Workforce wellbeing and enablement
We did not look at Workforce wellbeing and enablement during this assessment. The score for this quality statement is based on the previous rating for Caring.
