Our view of the service
We carried out this announced focused on-site inspection on 15 April 2026.
We found the practice had not met all regulations.
The practice did not have effective systems to identify and manage risks to patients and staff.
Staff did not always demonstrate the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.
Recruitment procedures did not always reflect current legislation.
There was ineffective leadership and improvements were required to ensure the culture supported continuous improvement.
Staff provided care and treatment which was mostly in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.
Octagon Dental Care is in Southampton and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces available immediately in front of the practice.
The practice had 3 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 5 staff. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 1 dentist and 2 dental nurses.
