Our view of the service
We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 15 October 2025.
We found the practice had met regulations.
Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.
The practice mostly had effective systems to identify and manage risks, which included infection prevention and control. However, they should improve the systems to identify and manage risks related to fire safety.
Littleborough Dental Practice is in Littleborough, Rochdale and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
The practice had installed a handrail to help patients with the step to access the practice. Car parking spaces available near the practice.
The practice had 5 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 17 staff, of which there were 6 dentists, 4 qualified dental nurses, 3 trainee dental nurses, 2 receptionists, 1 cleaner and the practice manager. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 2 dentists, 1 dental nurse, 2 receptionists, the practice manager and a second practice manager from a sister practice.
People's experience of this service
On the day of our visit, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We received feedback from 6 patients. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.

“Amazing service, hence, how long I’ve come here. Always pleasant. Would recommend the dentist which I do”.
“The practice is clean and tidy, the dentist is always friendly and knowledgeable in his field, we are always seen at the time of our appointment and pre book our next appointments also whist there we also receive email reminders which are great”.
Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness. “Practice is immaculate, and staff are great, friendly and helpful”.
Patients felt able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and said they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed. “Always friendly. Great service. Always get appointments when needed”.
Patients told us they were given clear information to help them make an informed choice about their treatment and any associated costs. They were involved in decisions about their care. “Information is provided in different languages” and “The staff have always been amazing. The website is superb in providing information and booking emergency appointments”.
Patients said when they were prescribed medicines, sufficient information was given.
Patients told us that they were supported to maintain their oral health and were provided with appropriate information and resources.
The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
