This information is for people who are applying for employment with CQC.
Seek your line manager’s permission before applying for secondments.
Skilled Worker sponsorship
We can sponsor Skilled Worker visas for a small number of roles. Our job adverts tell you if sponsorship is possible for the role you wish to apply for.
You must be eligible to take part in this scheme. Check if you qualify for a Skilled Worker visa on the gov.uk website.
At the moment all our roles are UK based and we are unable to offer relocation support.
Fixed term contracts
CQC is working through an organisational transformation programme. As part of this, we are creating a new target operating model.
We offer some roles as fixed term contracts as part of the transition to our new operating model. The role you apply for may exist in the future structure. We will not automatically consider you for any such permanent role. You will not be considered in any selection pool for redundancy. You will not have the right to be considered for redeployment at the end of the fixed term contract. And you will have no right to any other mitigation of or compensation for redundancy.
You will have no automatic right to a role during or at the end of the transformation programme. You will leave the organisation at the end of the specified contract.
You may apply for advertised vacancies which arise during your employment with CQC.
Breaks in employment
Tell us about any break in employment in the employment history and references section of your application. Include the dates you were taking the break.
Help throughout your application (reasonable adjustments)
We want CQC to be a great place to work, where all our people can thrive, feel valued and make a difference.
We want our teams to reflect the communities we serve and welcome applications from everyone.
We aim to:
- be open and transparent about how we recruit
- support applicants during the recruitment process
- provide reasonable adjustments where possible.
You can ask for help at any point in the recruitment process. For example, you can ask us to provide:
- an accessible location for your interview
- extra time during selection tests
- information in an accessible format.
Email email@example.com to discuss your individual needs, or if you have any questions.
Guaranteed Interview Scheme
Applying under the Guaranteed Interview Scheme does not mean you will be automatically shortlisted or offered an interview.
If you apply under the scheme, you must meet the essential criteria highlighted in the job description. If you reach the benchmark during shortlisting, we will offer you an interview.
Our HR Services Team will wait until your approval before approaching your referees. We will not ask for references before you hand in your notice.
We recognise continuous service for national and local government, NHS and Civil Service organisations. If you want to confirm continuous service will count, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We do not pay travelling expenses for interviewees. This is in line with most government organisations.
There may be exceptional circumstances. We will need to agree these in advance.
We aim to contact successful candidates as soon as possible after an assessment event takes place.
If you are successful, we will contact you via telephone.
If you are unsuccessful, we will contact you via email.
We do not have a waiting period between applications. You are more than welcome to apply for as many roles as you would like.
We receive a high volume of applications across all our vacancies. This means we cannot give individual feedback at the application stage.
Our operations roles are subject to a satisfactory DBS check.
