TA Petersfield general practice has been praised by inspectors after it significantly improved the standard of care it offered its patients.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspected The Grange Surgery in Petersfield, Hampshire, in December 2020 to determine whether the service had addressed issues that CQC previously highlighted.

A previous CQC inspection, which took place in October 2019, led to it being rated Inadequate and placed in special measures, as it was not providing safe care and treatment to patients.

The latest inspection found that the practice had made significant improvement. It was meeting standards that people should be able to expect and helping them to live healthier lives.

The service is now rated Good overall and it has exited special measures.

Garry Higgins, CQC’s head of inspection for primary medical services in the south of England, said:

“Our latest inspection of The Grange Surgery found that it had significantly improved the service it offered its patients.

“Staff treated patients with kindness and respect, involving them in decisions about their care.

“The service had also embedded processes to help it sustain its improvement.

“The progress we saw is particularly noteworthy against the backdrop of challenges presented by COVID-19, so I congratulate the service for its hard work.”
