Key question: effective?

Population group: All groups

This example relates to Key Line of Enquiry (KLOE) E7: How are people supported to live healthier lives?

When we inspected

According to the data available, the practice delivered fewer immunisations to their patients than the average for the local CCG as well as the national average.  The practice did not have a policy for following up with people who did not attend their immunisation appointment and had not taken any action to improve their immunisation rates.

Why this is inadequate?

This practice had not been proactive in monitoring the outcome of their immunisation service and as a result no action has been taken to learn from poor performance and try to improve patient outcomes. This also has implications for the wider community (for example, low immunisation uptake can affect the health of communities).
