During a routine inspection

We spoke with four people of the six people who lived at the home. One person was not at home when we visited.

People told us that they were happy living at the home and that they were satisfied with how their care needs were being met. One person told us 'There are no unfair rules', another person told us 'They always look after us. I'm not in a rush to leave.' We spoke with four members of staff during our visit. They all showed a good awareness of the needs of the people that they supported.

People in the home generally appeared relaxed and comfortable with the staff who were supporting them. People did not raise concerns with us about their safety. People we spoke with were confident that they could raise concerns if they were not happy with the care being received and that they would be listened to.

After our visit, we spoke with three care professionals and an advocate who had contact with people at the home. They told us they did not have any concerns about the care people received. One care professional told us 'I'm quite impressed with the support offered.'

During an inspection in response to concerns

The service had six people living at Willow House at the time of our visit. We offered to talk to everyone living at Willow House, and four people agreed to talk to us. People we did speak to told us that they were happy living at Willow House, that they enjoyed the activities that were provided for them and that they were happy staff supported them to be independent by teaching them daily living skills. One person we spoke to told us how the staff has helped them so much that they were now able to move into their own flat in the community with help.

One person we spoke with told us that they did not like living at Willow House, but did say that they liked the staff, and that they enjoyed learning daily living skills.
