Condition of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity
The registered provider must not admit any service user without the prior written agreement of the Care Quality Commission. This includes any respite admissions of service users, service users who are discharged to assess from hospital to the service or any readmissions if service users are admitted to hospital.
The registered provider must carry out an up-to-date assessment of all service users care and clinical support needs by 29 March 2024 and create a summary for each service user that is easily accessible to all care and nursing staff. The registered provider must provide a copy of these summaries to the Care Quality Commission by 29 March 2024.
The registered provider must provide all care and nursing staff with training in tissue viability and pressure area care by 5 April 2024. The registered provider must ensure there is a process for monthly review of all care and nursing staff competency in relation to tissue viability and pressure area care. The registered provider must send evidence of these competency reviews to CQC every month.
The registered provider must provide care and nursing staff with training on how to identify report and escalate appropriately all accidents and incidents, including unexplained bruises and injuries, by 5 April 2024. The registered provider must ensure there is a process for monthly review of all care and nursing staff competency in relation to how to identify report and escalate appropriately all accidents and incidents, including unexplained bruises and injuries. The registered provider must send evidence of these competency reviews to CQC every month.
The registered provider must provide care staff with training in a tool for identifying and escalating the deterioration of service users’ physical health by 5 April 2024 and ensure care staff use the tool on a daily basis for all service users to identify and escalate early signs of deterioration. The registered provider must send evidence of these competency reviews to CQC every month.
The registered provider must conduct audits on a monthly basis for the following activities and send to copies of these audits with any actions taken on the first Tuesday of each month following the conditions taking effect.
a) Medicines
b) Accidents and incidents
c) Pressure area care and wounds
d) Fluid intake and monitoring
e) Training, competency, and ongoing supervision of staff
Terms of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity
The registered provider must only accommodate a maximum of 54 service users at Olive Row Care Home.
The registered provider must ensure that the regulated activity accommodation with nursing or personal care is managed by an individual who is registered as a manager in respect of that activity at or from Olive Row Care Home.
