During a routine inspection

The patients that we spoke to were positive about the changes taking place within the service. It was clear that there was more independence and choice in patients' lives than had previously been the case. Carers spoke very highly of both qualified and unqualified health professionals and domestic staff. One carer said 'if I had won the lottery I could not have bought better' (care).

The staff were very knowledgeable about the patients and displayed competence and compassion.

The move from a hospital service to residential service is in line with the fact that for the great majority of 'patients' the Meadows is, and will continue to be, their home.
