During an inspection in response to concerns

We spoke with a total of nine people who were receiving care and treatment in four wards at four different locations. We spoke with two people on Cedar Ward.

Generally they were happy with the quality of care and support provided by staff.

They reported differing levels of consultation regarding care planning and whether or not they had signed their own individual care plans but everyone was aware of the care and treatment they were receiving and felt able to approach staff if they needed re-assurance or support. Examples of these included attendance and participation at their individual weekly review meetings. A seven day a week rehabilitation programme was in place where appropriate, and people reported active engagement opportunities with staff and the provision of daily protected time, (a designated time set aside for staff to engage and develop therapeutic relationships with patients), on all the wards visited.

People who were receiving care and treatment told us that they felt safe on the wards and able to report any concerns to staff and confident that these concerns would be acted upon if necessary.

People using the service told us that they felt that they were getting better and improving due to the care and treatment they were receiving on the wards. They felt they were able to report any incidents they witnessed to staff and confident that these would be acted upon if necessary.
