During a routine inspection

We spoke with people and staff on both the closed and the open units. All patients we spoke with said they were happy and satisfied with the care. One person said, 'I have never had any reason to complain.' People said they felt involved in the activities and could discuss their concerns. All the people we spoke with said that their primary nurse was always ready to deal with any problems. Staff told us they felt well supported and had good working relationships with their colleagues. 'I feel valued and listened,' said one staff member. 'I like working here (and) enjoy working with the client group,' said another staff member.

On our visit we found that patients were treated with respect and were involved in their care. Care and treatment was based on their assessed needs and they were safeguarded from abuse. Staff worked with other healthcare professionals to ensure people's health, safety and welfare was protected. All staff received suitable support in terms of training, supervision and professional development. The provider had arrangements in place to monitor the quality of service provision, and people and their representatives were asked for feedback in improving the quality of care.
