All Inspections

16 October 2013

During a routine inspection

During our inspection on 16 October 2013, we spoke with ten people currently using Sevacare Luton, or their relatives. We also spoke with seven members of staff, including the registered manager and branch manager and reviewed information from the local authority.

We found from reviewing the care records that people had signed their care plans in agreement to the delivery of care. We also found that data protection forms had been signed. This meant that people had given consent to the care they required.

Everyone we spoke with told us they were "very happy" with the service they received. One person said, 'I have no complaints at all, the staff are really very kind. I am very happy with the service."

The people we spoke with told us that care staff gave them all the support they needed, and that they generally had regular carers who turned up when agreed. One person said, "I know they are busy and can be late but if I report this to the office it is always dealt with.'

People confirmed that they felt safe in the presence of care staff, who they described as "caring.' One person said," I have no worries about having them in my house."

Everyone told us that they were regularly asked for their feedback either through telephone monitoring or care reviews, to make sure the service was meeting their needs appropriately. They said they felt comfortable approaching the manager or any member of staff if required with any concerns.
