All Inspections

During a routine inspection

The provider had an up to date policy in place to support clinical staff in gaining informed verbal consent for treatment, and written consent if required, from children and adults. Clinical staff told us that the service did not routinely provide high risk treatments that required written consent.

People were positive about the care they received. We reviewed feedback forms collected by the service. One person commented "I come away with a clear understanding of my condition and what to expect." Another person wrote "My mood has been low but with your help I am now moving toward a great position." People's health status was monitored regularly. Care records and risk assessments were well maintained.

Staff recruitment followed a structured process. Appropriate records for clinical and non-clinical staff were kept. This included employment references and safeguarding clearance documents. The provider had recently installed electronic human resource software and, at the time of our inspection, was moving paper files onto the computer system.

The provider had an up to date complaints policy that was available to people who used the service. We saw that complaints were handled in an appropriate and timely manner.

Records held by the service about people, staff and management processes were up to date, accurate and stored securely. The provider kept professional registration and indemnity membership records for all clinical staff who practised at the service.
