All Inspections

5 December 2013

During a routine inspection

At the time of our inspection there were nine people receiving personal care from the service. We spoke with two of them and the care manager of a third. They were all satisfied with the service provided. One person said it was 'all right', and their care and support were delivered according to their agreed plans by competent care workers. Another person said, 'They are OK. No complaints.' The care manager told us their client had received an efficient assessment and appropriate support plans were in place for them. People told us care and support were provided with their consent and agreement. None of the people we spoke with had experienced problems or had complaints with the service.

We found people's care and support were delivered according to thorough and individualised assessments and plans. Staff ensured people consented before support was provided and were aware of their responsibilities if people did not have the capacity to give consent. Care workers were supported to provide care to the required standard by an effective system of appraisals and supervision. Appropriate training was available to staff and they were encouraged to study for relevant qualifications. Systems were in place to assess and monitor the quality of the service provided.
