During a routine inspection
Patient's comments included statements such as "I've always felt very looked after and in good hands with Mr McIndoe. When I first saw him he made me feel at ease and was happy to answer all my questions -never made me feel rushed or that I was asking too many!" and "I have been visiting this practice for about 20 years now and have always been impressed by the standard of care and the good organisation".
Patient's needs were medically assessed and care and treatment was planned and delivered with their full consent. There were arrangements in place to deal with foreseeable emergencies and staff had received training in basic life support.
Patients were protected from the risk of abuse, because the provider had taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent abuse from happening. Patient's feedback showed they felt safe in the service and we saw comments such as "very friendly, welcoming, everyone makes you feel relaxed" and "friendly and welcoming staff". We found staff were aware of the signs of abuse and their responsibilities to report suspected abuse.
The provider took account of complaints and comments to improve the service and we saw staff were given training and support to carry out their roles.
