During an inspection looking at part of the service

We did not speak with any patients during our visit.

The provider had made the required improvements from our previous inspection.

Arrangements were in place to ensure that all staff received an annual appraisal of their work. Staff had received training on safeguarding vulnerable adults and understood their responsibilities under safeguarding procedures to protect patients from the risk of abuse.

Essential improvements and checks had been completed to ensure that the premises were safe and suitable for people to visit or work in.

Systems were in place to monitor the quality of the service and to identify and manage risks to ensure the welfare and safety of people who used the service.

The provider obtained patients views about the care and service but had yet to complete a report of the findings, to show that their views were listened to and acted on.

During a routine inspection

Patients told us they were treated with care and respect. One patient told us 'Excellent staff, doctor is great.' Another patient told us 'Extremely good practice and very supportive.' Patients told us their privacy was maintained. One patient told us 'The doors are closed all the time for privacy.'

Patients told us they were able to see a GP when they needed to. One patient told us 'It is easy to make appointments; you can get to see the doctor the same day.' Another patient said 'You can get through on the phone and quickly make an appointment.' Patients told us they felt listened to and involved in their care. They said treatment options were discussed with them, and results of tests were fully explained. One patient told us 'The practice nurse talks through any processes or tests.' Another patient said 'The GP is very good; takes account of my opinions and give me choices.'

Staff had not received training in safeguarding vulnerable adults.

Systems were in place to protect both patients and staff form the risk of infection. However, we found that patients were not fully protected against the risks of unsafe or unsuitable premises.

Systems had been introduced to encourage patients to share their views and highlight areas for improvement at the practice. Patients could not remember being asked for any feedback or comments about how the practice was run.
