All Inspections

7 February 2014

During a routine inspection

On the day of our inspection we spoke with five patients and with six members of staff including the GP and the practice manager. All the patients were positive about their experiences with the service. Several patients told us they particularly appreciated the morning sugery where they could be seen without making an appointment. One patient told us, 'It's really very good. Everyone is friendly. They don't rush you. They take the time to listen. They explain the treatments and I feel able to make my own choices. It's always clean and the morning surgery really helps when you need to see the doctor.'

We saw that care and treatment were planned and delivered in a way that met patient's needs.

We saw that care was delivered in a clean environment preventing the risk of infection to patients and staff. A patient told us, 'It's always so clean and warm.' However, we noted the practice has some difficulties operating from its current premises which is a small semi-detached house. The practice will be moving to a purpose built medical centre later in the year.

Staff received training in safeguarding (protecting vulnerable adults and children). They were aware of the appropriate agencies to refer any concerns to.

There were established quality monitoring systems in place to assess and monitor the quality of service that patients received. There were methods to obtain patient feedback and an active Patient Participation Group.
