During an inspection looking at part of the service

We spoke with people who used the service who told us that staff consulted them and respected and acted on the decisions they made about the care and support they agreed to.

Relatives said that the service provided was reliable and that people were given the care, support and attention they needed.

We found that improvements had been made to the plans of care. We saw that they were complete and contain the information staff members needed to ensure that the health and safety of people was promoted.

People using the service and relatives told us that the members of staff were excellent, friendly and very kind.

People told us that they felt safe using the service. We found that improvements had been made and saw that plans of care held care and risk assessments that showed staff how to minimise risk and prevent abuse.

Staff members had completed training and the standard of care and support they provided was monitored through regular supervision and staff team meetings.

Quality audits were carried out and people told us that they were asked for their views on the quality of the service provided.

Improvements had been made to the records held which were now complete, up to date and protected people from the risk of receiving unsafe care and support.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with people who used the service who told us that staff consulted them and respected and acted on the decisions they made about the care and support they agreed to.

Relatives said that the service provided was reliable and that people were given the care, support and attention they needed.

We found that plans of care were incomplete and did not contain the information staff members needed to ensure that the health and safety of people was promoted.

People using the service and relatives told us that the members of staff were excellent, friendly and very kind.

People told us that they felt safe using the service but their plans of care did not hold any care or risk assessments that showed staff how to minimise risk and prevent abuse.

Staff members had completed training but the standard of care and support they provided was not formally monitored through planned supervision and staff team meetings.

Quality audits were not being carried out on a formal basis but people told us that they were asked for their views on the quality of the service provided.

Records were incomplete and not up to date. They did not protect people from the risk of receiving unsafe care and support or show that members of staff were fully trained and had the quality of their work practice monitored.
