During an inspection in response to concerns
We found that people’s needs were assessed, but there was not always sufficient detail in the care and support plans to ensure these were met appropriately and safely.
The provider had a current policy for safeguarding and information and guidance for staff on who to contact in the event of suspected abuse taking place. We found that staff were able to demonstrate what was considered abuse and what they would do if the thought that someone was being abused. However there was no evidence to demonstrate that the provider had checked at this was the case.
We found that staff were not adequately supported. Training records were inadequate and staff were not offered supervisions or appraisals. We spoke with three staff. They told us they felt supported by the branch manager but were not confident in the support system when this person was not on duty.
There was no evidence that the provider had a system in place to assess and monitor the service they provided.
