During a routine inspection
One person who used the service told us they were 'very very pleased with them. They are all so friendly and helpful.' They said they were included in how their care and support was delivered. One person told us "I don't want men helping me so they don't come." Two people told us when they had raised an issue with the manager it had been rectified in a timely way.
We observed care and support was delivered in a way which showed respect and protected a person's dignity and privacy. We saw records of the care required were kept and assessments of risks, with actions to reduce them, were documented.
Staff were aware of the signs that abuse may be taking place and knew how to raise a concern should they need to do so. Some additional information should be available to staff, which was discussed with the manager.
Staff were recruited in such a way as to ensure the necessary information was obtained to check they were physically and mentally fit to do the work and of good character.
Systems were in place to monitor and review the quality of the service provided.
