During a routine inspection
People told us that they received their care from staff who were familiar to them. They said that staff were kind, helpful and willing to be flexible to meet their needs. Relatives told us that their family members received good care from staff who treated them with respect and knew their preferences about their care. Care home managers told us that they were happy with the quality of staff provided by the agency.
We saw evidence that the provider obtained a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure for staff before they began work and checked that staff did not appear on the DBS list of people barred from working with vulnerable people. However we found that the provider had not obtained two written references for each member of staff employed, which meant that the provider had not made all the necessary checks before staff began work.
We found that the provider had developed an effective system to monitor the quality of service that people received which included seeking the views of people who used the service and their relatives. We saw evidence that the partner organisation had developed an action plan to address any areas of concern highlighted by people or their relatives.
