All Inspections

12 December 2013

During a routine inspection

We visited the office and spoke with the manager and staff. Later we spoke with eight people who used the service and / or their relatives. All of the people we spoke with were happy with the service they received.

People and relatives told us that they had given their consent and been involved in regular discussions about their care. One person commented, 'Two Lauriem staff came and sat with me and we had a long chat about what support I needed'.

We found that people had care plans which were personalised to reflect their individual needs. People told us that they had a care plan in their home and that it was regularly reviewed. One person said, 'I'm quite satisfied. They review my care plan every so often.'

We found that there were appropriate systems in place to record medication.

People told us that they had been asked for feedback on the service they received at their reviews and we saw that surveys were carried out. People we spoke with said that they did not have any complaints but knew who to contact if they had any problems. People said that they felt confident that they would be listened to if they raised an issue and that it would be acted on. One person told us, 'I'd phone the office if I had a problem. I'm confident it would be sorted. I have never had to complain'.

4 January 2013

During a routine inspection

We made an unannounced visit to the agency office and spoke with the provider. We spoke with three people who use the service and their relatives and with staff.

People told us that, most of the time, they had regular carers which they preferred. We were told, 'Overall, I get a good service from Lauriem'.

People said that they were happy with the service they received and that staff were, 'Quite professional' and, 'Very nice'.

Staff told us that they felt supported in their roles and had regular meetings and one to one supervision.

We saw evidence that staff had their work quality checked by supervisors on a regular basis.
