During a routine inspection

On the day of our inspection we visited seven people who were supported by The Oaklea Trust and spoke with a further three relatives on the telephone. We spent time observing how staff supported people. We found staff were very respectful in their approach, treating people with dignity and courtesy. People who used the service were very positive about the staff. Comments included 'They definitely treat (relative's name) with respect' and 'The staff are great with (relative's name)."

We spoke with some relatives who told us they were very happy with the care and support provided. Comments included "They're brilliant with (relative's name)', 'We are over the moon with the service' and 'I know (relative's name) is happy and very well cared for.'

We spoke with three people who used the service, they all said they were happy with the care and support provided and felt safe. One person said 'I am safe here.'

The provider used a range of tools to monitor and assess people's wellbeing. We saw there was a 'Customer Forum' which allowed people who used the service to discuss any issues or concerns they had.
