During a routine inspection
We asked family carers if options for support were fully explained to them and if they felt fully involved in making decisions about care. One person said “We sat together to work out our care plan that responded to our needs; it was needs driven. We were fully involved in planning the care we needed, it was a partnership”.
People we spoke with said they valued the consistency of the support they received. One person said “it is very confidence building to have the same member of staff visiting”.
Staff told us that they had received training in safeguarding adults. They were able to tell us about different types of abuse and the signs they would look for that may suggest that a person was being abused.
Staff told us they received good support and training. One staff member said the “support is amazing; one of the most positive bosses I have had the privilege of working with”.
A member of staff said “We definitely have time to do what needs to be done and talk to people. That is what they like. We do the job at a slow pace, their pace and will do more if we can. If people laugh and I know they are happy and safe and everything is tidy I know I am doing my job well”.
We saw records that were up to date, signed and dated in line with the organisations policy. We saw that records were held stored securely.
