All Inspections

29 January 2014

During a routine inspection

At the time of our inspection there were four young people who used the service. We spoke with parents of two young people and asked them for their views.

We received some very positive feedback about Aspirations North West Children. The parents told us they were very satisfied with the service provided and spoke highly of staff and the manager. Their comments included:

'We are completely satisfied. The consistency of care is marvellous. We've had other agencies who were not able to manage the same level of consistency.'

'I have absolutely no complaints at all. It has been an excellent service for us.'

During this inspection we assessed standards relating to the care and welfare of people who used the service and procedures for protecting people from cross infection. We looked at how the service selected and recruited staff. The areas of quality assurance and complaints management were also inspected. We did not identify any concerns in the areas we assessed.

During a routine inspection

During our inspection we spoke to relatives of people who used the service, we invited them to share with us their views and experience of the care they received.

One relative of a person who used the services said 'We are happy with the service, the care staff take my family member out on a regular basis each week doing activities they enjoy, sometimes it can be to the park or swimming'.

Another relative told us 'The care has exceeded our expectations, we have had other services providing care before but it hasn't met this level of service'.

We spoke to another family member of a person who used the services they told us 'I know my family member is safe with the care staff, they know their needs and support them'.

Another family member told us 'The care staff always show dignity and respect privacy as they delivered the care'. We are involved in the planning of care and attend regular review meetings'.

We observed care files, these were well organised and had a person centred approach. The service maintained a contact record of all telephone calls or written correspondence with family members, representatives and other professionals.

The service had robust quality audit and monitoring systems in place to support the care delivery monitoring.
