During a routine inspection
People were given appropriate information about the service including details of fees and charges and there was a suitable environment for private consultation and examination.
Records indicated that people were assessed and their care and treatment had been recorded. There were arrangements for referrals to medical specialists if necessary. Suitable procedures and equipment were in place to manage foreseeable emergencies.
There was an up to date infection control policy. There were procedures to monitor and audit infection control and minimise the risk of infection to those using the service. Good standards of hygiene and cleanliness were apparent.
Staff were suitably trained and there were mechanisms to ensure that professional development was maintained. There were appropriate induction procedures for temporary staff.
The provider had systems to monitor and assure the quality of the service, including procedures for reporting incidents, and protocols for communicating clinical updates and alerts. There was a clear complaints procedure. Other audits were planned, including infection control and record keeping along with a review of customer service levels.
