All Inspections

29 July 2014

During an inspection looking at part of the service

We carried out an inspection on 28 March and 2 April 2013 and made a compliance action regarding availability of staff files. We carried out an unannounced inspection on 29 July 2014 to check on the actions the provider had taken to meet this compliance action.

We spoke with the registered manager who informed us of the processes in place to ensure staff files were accurate and maintained and readily available for inspection when needed. We found these met the regulations.

24 February 2014

During a routine inspection

We spoke to three people who used the service. All of them were happy with the standard of service they had received. One person said; "I didn't have to wait long for an appointment." Another said; "Staff are discreet." And; "The staff are very polite and helpful."

We found people's privacy and dignity were respected.

People's views and experiences were taken into account in the way the service was provided and delivered in relation to their care. One person said; "All of the options were explained step-by-step and choices were given to me." Another person said; "I was given written information that told me what was involved."

Before people received any care or treatment they were asked for their consent and the provider acted in accordance with their wishes. We saw consent forms were signed before any treatment took place.

Care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way that was intended to ensure people's safety and welfare. One person said; "The staff helped me." Another said; "Everything was explained to me and I had telephone numbers if there was a problem."

People were cared for, or supported by, suitably qualified, skilled and experienced staff. We spoke with four staff. They told us it was a good organisation to work for. One staff member said; "There are excellent training opportunities." All staff said they felt well supported by their line manager to carry out their role.

We saw the provider had systems in place to gather feedback from people, who used the service, and to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service people received.

28 March and 2 April 2013

During a routine inspection

We visited this service on 28 March 2013 but found it was not operating on that day. We re visited on 2 April 2013. We observed people visiting the clinic during our visit, but we did not speak with any of them.

We looked at the BPAS Aldershot tick box feedback forms completed by ten people who had recently used the service in February and March 2013. None of the people had written comments in the box provided, but had ticked a number of responses. These were positive about the care and support they received by staff at the clinic.

Following the inspection we asked staff at the clinic to contact people and provide them with our contact details in order that they could speak with us if they wished. To date no one has contacted us.

There were safeguarding procedures in place and staff received regular training.

Infection control measures were in place and the clinic was clean and hygienic.

There was a complaints system and people had access to the complaints procedure.

We looked at staff recruitment procedures and spoke with staff about the recruitment process. We were, however, unable to confirm what we had been told because staff recruitment files had not kept at the clinic.
