During a routine inspection

At the time of our visit the agency was providing a service to two people in their own homes. We met with one person and their family member in their own home, we spoke with the other person on the telephone. We also spoke with two staff members and the manager of the agency.

People spoke positively about the services provided by the agency. They told us that staff were kind and caring and treated them with respect. One person said, "I have very good support from the staff. If only all agencies were like this."

We found that people were supported to make their own decisions about the care they receive. People were involved in their care planning and consented to treatment.

We found that the practices of the agency ensured good hygiene standards and the prevention of the spread of infection. Staff confirmed that they had training in infection control.

The agency had an effective quality assurance system that took into account people's views and the complaints procedures ensured that any concerns were responded to appropriately.

During a routine inspection

As part of this inspection we spoke with people who use the service, their family members and representatives on the telephone.

We were told that people were happy with the support they received from the staff supplied by the agency. They told us that if they had any concerns they could speak with the manager and were confident that this would be resolved promptly.

People spoke positively about staff and said that they were treated with respect and their dignity was maintained.

Staff members told us that they felt well trained and supported in their role.
