There was a policy on complaints and a system in place to deal with them. When we spoke with people who used the service they did not have any complaints. They said that if they did have a complaint they thought the provider would listen to them.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with two people who used the service. We read comments from surveys and looked at comments in the compliments and complaints book. People were pleased with the service they received. They said the staff were, 'very cheerful and encouraging'. They said staff respected their privacy and maintained their dignity always asking how much help an individual wanted with personal care.

People said they were encouraged to be as independent as possible. 'They have taken me as far as I could go' and 'they made suggestions but I had the choice' were among the comments we heard.
