During a routine inspection

Care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way that was intended to ensure people's safety and welfare. Staff had good knowledge of the needs of people who used the service.

We telephoned and spoke with four people who used the service, some of which were supported by their relatives. They said they were happy with the service provided by the agency and received sufficient information about the service they could expect to receive.

People who used the service were protected from the risk of abuse, because the provider had taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent abuse from happening.

There were enough qualified, skilled and experienced staff to meet people's needs. Staff we spoke with told us they received training to ensure they could meet the needs of people who used the service.

The service had processes in place to monitor people's views and listen to their concerns about the service offered. People we spoke with confirmed that the treatment they received was satisfactory. One person said 'The care is what I expected, staff who support me are good and they turn up on time.' One relative we spoke with said they had raised some concerns about the consistency of staff and we are having meetings to sort things out.'

During a routine inspection

People expressed their views and were involved in making decisions about their care and treatment. One person said that they were consulted by the staff about their care needs and they made the decisions as and what support they wanted from the agency.

People received any care or treatment only when they or their representatives had consented. One person who received care confirmed they were consulted and the staff gained permission before delivering support.

Care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way that protected people from discrimination. People told us they received personalised care and support from the care workers. They said the care workers treated them with respect and were not judgemental.

People who used the service said they were comfortable when the care workers were around. They said if they were unhappy with care workers they would inform the staff at the agency office and their family members.

People said they had regular contact with the management from the agency office and they were able to view their opinions.
