All Inspections

4 September 2013

During a routine inspection

People were treated with consideration and respect and their privacy, dignity and independence were maintained. People were able to make choices about how to spend their day.

All of the people we spoke with told us that staff did everything they needed them to do for them. One person told us that the staff 'do more than you need.' Another person told us 'I cannot fault it. Everything; the care they give us, the things to do.' People's needs were assessed and care was delivered to meet their needs. People had access to activities.

People spoke highly about the food they were offered and were given a choice of suitable food and drink to meet their nutritional needs.

People were protected from the risks of unsafe care or treatment because there was an accurate record of people's needs.

28 November 2012

During a routine inspection

People told us that staff sought consent.

One person told us that staff treated them like a 'human being' and one person told us that the atmosphere within the day hospital was 'caring, sociable and down to earth'.

We reviewed people's records which demonstrated that care plans reflected the needs of people and risk assessments were up to date. People's records demonstrated that their mental capacity was assessed and was decision specific

We observed people participating in a range of activities including one to one complimentary therapy, art work, word games, reading a paper and group relaxation.

The provider had undertaken sufficient recruitment checks before staff started work at the hospital.

There were systems in place to monitor the quality of the service provided.
