All Inspections

14 February 2013

During a routine inspection

We saw that each new social inclusion activity was discussed and then evaluated once completed with the active participation of the young person wherever possible, and their family/main carer. This meant that people's views and experiences were taken into account in the way the service was provided and delivered in relation to their care.

We reviewed the feedback from the people who were accessing this service and noted that this was very positive from all involved. This showed us that people experienced care, treatment and support that met their needs and protected their rights.

Staff told us that they were confident that they would recognise and know what action to take if they observed a potential abusive situation. This meant that the people who used the service were protected from the risk of abuse, because the provider had taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent abuse from happening.

We saw that both the front line and senior staff were up to date with their mandatory training and had received recent supervision. This showed us that people were cared for by staff who were supported to deliver care and treatment safely and to an appropriate standard.

The team coordinators spoken with told us how they supervised and monitored the care being given by front line staff to young people. This meant that the provider had an effective system to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that people receive.
