During a routine inspection

As part of this inspection we spoke with people who use the service at Lifeline Sunderland. One person told us, "Being able to walk in and get what you need is fantastic'. "I have had enough of being dependent on drugs and coming here helps me." The service worked collaboratively with other health, social care, and voluntary agencies.

The provider, The Lifeline project employed a range of health and social care professionals who provided the assessment and treatment of people who used the service. The staff we spoke with made positive comments about the service provided at Lifeline Sunderland and the support they received to carry out their roles. The service had effective ways of checking and monitoring the quality of its service which included the views of people who used it. People told us they were confident their information was stored securely. One person said, "My privacy is paramount to the staff here. I know that they will keep all of my information confidential."

People using the service said staff were friendly and welcoming. One person receiving treatment told us the staff had always been respectful, considerate and understanding. This same person went on to say his privacy and dignity had been respected by staff at all times. We were also told how people were encouraged by the support they had received saying, 'I have been to other agencies before but this one was recommended to me by one of my mates'.
