All Inspections

3 July 2014

During an inspection looking at part of the service

During the inspection we spoke with two dentists.

We saw that the provider had successfully addressed the three areas that they were previously found to be non-compliant with at the April 2013 inspection.

Patients were protected from the risk of abuse, because the provider had up dated their safeguarding policies and attended training in safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.

The provider had introduced written cleaning schedules which were audited. This meant that patients were protected from the risk of infection.

We saw that the provider had made available to all their patients information about the provider's complaints procedure.

17 April 2013

During a routine inspection

During this inspection we spoke with three people who used the practice. We also spoke with the provider and two members of staff.

We observed that people's privacy was respected while they received their treatment. We observed staff speak to people in a polite and friendly manner.

People who used the practice said that they were happy with their care and treatment. Comments included, "The dentist always explains my treatment and the costs", "the staff were approachable", "the practice provides flexible appointments","the practice provides consistent care" and "good customer service".

There were procedures in place for the protection of children and safeguarding vulnerable adults from abuse but these did not make reference to the local authority procedures, Staff had not completed training in child protection.

We found that the practice was clean and hygienic but there were no written cleaning schedules in place .

People we spoke with said that would feel confident to raise any concerns if they needed to. The practice had a complaints procedure in place but this information had not been made available to people who used the practice.
