During a routine inspection

People were advised to contact the practice if they wished to go ahead with the treatment. We found they were given enough time to think about the consent decisions before agreeing to treatment. One staff member told us: 'We need complete commitment from patients, so we let them go home to think about it.'

The dentist showed us digital pictures which showed the before and after x-rays of people who had treatment. These were used to help people to understand what treatments were available and to choose the best treatment suitable to their needs. One person said: 'We were informed of all our options and were involved.'

We found all staff received a comprehensive induction. We saw it was relevant to staff member's role and took account of the recognised standards within the sector. Staff members we spoke with said they found the induction beneficial. One staff member told us: 'It was brilliant, very good for new people coming on board.'

We viewed various audits that been carried out. We found appropriate action was taken to address any areas that could present a risk associated with unsafe care, treatment or support.
