During a routine inspection

Dentalign Orthodontics ' Maidenhead specialises in the straightening or re-positioning of teeth. During our inspection we were able to speak with an orthodontist, a dental nurse and the practice manager. We were also able to speak with two patients and three relatives of patients using the service. People we spoke with felt they were informed of their treatment plans and given relevant information. One patient told us, "They are very good, they give you the right information and are realistic with what can be achieved." We viewed five patient records and found these contained appropriate and up to date information.

We toured the practice and found it to be clean, hygienic and free of clutter. Dental instruments were decontaminated in line with the Department of Health standards.

Staff were supported to deliver effective care and treatment safely. We saw staff attended appropriate training and were registered with their professional bodies. Staff told us they felt supported by management.

People we spoke told us they had no complaints or concerns with the treatment they were provided. We noticed the complaints procedure was displayed in the waiting room. The practice asked for feedback from patients and had on display the results of the 2013 questionnaires completed by patients.
