During a routine inspection
We looked at some of the surgery records. We saw people had treatment plans known as care pathways. These took into account their medical history and recorded treatment needs, options, advice and the costs.
The practice was a conversion of two older style properties and had undergone recent building work. There was programme of modernisation work under way at the time of the inspection. We saw that the practice areas were visibly clean and there were adequate infection control systems in place. People told us they had been coming to the practice for many years and felt the practice treatment rooms were always clean. They said they felt confident in the dental care provided. One person told us 'This is an excellent dental practice.'
We spoke with staff and looked at staff records. We saw that new dental nurses had a detailed induction and that all staff undertook regular training. We looked at other practice records and found that the provider undertook clinical and infection control audits and collected feedback from patients to monitor and review the quality and safety of the service provided.
