During a routine inspection

We visited the agency's offices on 21st November and spoke to a person using the service and staff. This included staff at all levels from the assistant director, managers, care support workers and business services staff. On the second day we visited a supported accommodation scheme where the agency's staff supported some tenants.

We looked at outcomes relating to consent to care and treatment, care and welfare, medicine management, staff recruitment and quality assurance. We found the service was compliant with these outcomes.

People we visited in their homes who used the agency told us they were satisfied with the care and support they received. They or their families and advocates or a representative of the agency had discussed the type of help they needed. They said they were happy with the service they received and the staff that supported them were consistent. They said their support workers were good and provided the support they needed as agreed. One person told us about the level of support they received and said, 'They always come when they are meant to'.

People we visited told us they have the usual support workers. One person said, 'The girls come every week. They're always on time, we have a chat and they leave with a smile and so do I".

During a routine inspection

People we visited in their homes who used the agency told us they received the service they wanted. They or their families and advocates and a representative of the agency had discussed the type of help they needed. They said they were happy with the service they received. Their support workers were very good and provided the support they needed as agreed. One person told us about the level of support they received and said, 'I couldn't do anything without the staff. Without them I wouldn't go for appointments and could become unwell as I wouldn't go by myself'.

People we visited told us they have the usual support workers. One person said, 'She's my regular carer and I have met two others who are going to be involved as well. She's lovely, respectful and we have great chats'. Another person said, 'Working with '. Makes me happy she praises me. Staff respect me and I feel better about myself'.

A relative told us they had no concerns about the staff that visited their family member. We were told that the agency had asked them for information about their family member. This was transferred into their relative's care plan so staff had information about how they wanted their care and support to be provided. The also told us their family member had decided they did not want records to be kept at their home and the agency respected this and said, 'We don't need records here. I see the staff are respectful and know what care's needed. The agency is excellent, no complaints. They don't just care for my wife they care for me as well'.

People told us they felt safe in their home. They had arrangements in place for staff to gain entry and to keep their home secure when they left. A person said, 'I am having more carers and have met them so I can recognise them'. Another person said, 'If a staff member visited me who I didn't know I wouldn't let them in. They (The agency) would telephone me if '. Wasn't coming and that's never happened'.
