We spoke with people visiting the service and they were complimentary about the care and support provided by staff. We were told by one person that she felt the staff knew residents really well and that the staff were always respectful towards people.

During our visit we observed how staff provided care and support. We saw them engaging positively with people, and we saw that they made every effort to support people in making decisions about their day to day care, for example when people wanted to eat their meals in their own room this was facilitated by staff.

There was a good atmosphere in the home, and staff told us that they felt well supported by the management team. They told us that they received training relevant to their role and that there were on going opportunities for training and personal development.

We spoke with staff and they were able to demonstrate a good understanding about adult safeguarding procedures. they were clear about the policies and procedures and knew what action they should take in the event of an allegation of abuse being made.
